Automotive Technologies

AutomotiveCareers in Automotive Technologies

The field of automotive technologies is challenging and high paying and has evolved into a high-tech industry. It now requires advanced education to work in the automotive field, and Sandhills Community College is an excellent place to begin your training.

Employment Prospects

The number of jobs for automotive service technicians, mechanics, and automotive body and related repairers is projected to grow as fast or faster than average for all occupations over the next decade. Employment growth will create many new jobs. However, total job openings will be significantly larger, because many skilled technicians are expected to retire and will need to be replaced.

Our Programs

The Department of Automotive Technologies at Sandhills Community College offers various degrees and certificates enabling individuals to enter the workforce working in automotive systems technology or auto body repair.

You will be provided with current technology and comprehensive training. All aspects of both programs, Auto Body Repair and Automotive Systems Technology, are taught using a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on application. A cooperative work experience is a valuable part of our program.
